During orthopedic consulting hours, after hearing the symptoms of the patient, opportunity is provided for creating the case history, reviewing former documentation, consulting about X-ray films, MR or CT findings, films and data carriers, physical examination of the patient and surveying the status of joints. Subsequent to setting and documenting the diagnose the patient is appropriately informed about treatment options, natural outcome of the disease, drawbacks resulting from averting the treatment, options of surgical treatments, and its potential complications. The treating physician (General Practitioner) is notified through the ambulant sheet about the entire ambulant treatment. Based on available information the patient may freely decide about the method of further treatment (conserving or surgical, private or within the budget of state health care) A period of 20-30 minutes is allocated for treatment of the patient, which is enough for completing these actions and this is considerably longer than the period (approx. 7-9 minutes) allocated by the state health care.
